My name is Alexander Hutchins...

Hello! My name is Alexander Hutchins, and I will be attending Boise State University in the fall of 2011.  My area of interest is engineering, in either software or mechanical.  I will be living in on-campus apartments throughout the 4 year process.  Yes! 4 years, which means I will be taking 15-18 credits per semester.

A bit about my background:
I am currently 19 years old, and my birthday is June 6th. I have graduated from Pocatello High School with a 3.6 GPA and was in the honors math path, with my highest class being calculus.  I graduated in May, 2009.  From there I went on to join the US Army in July, 2009, however in January, 2010 I was discharge for medical reasons, but because I was in for under 180 days when the discharge started I was given an "uncharacterized" discharge (entry-level separation).  In February, 2010 I had a hemorrhagic stroke on my brain stem caused by a cavernous malformation.  This left me with decreased sensitivity in my right side.  Since May, 2010 I have been looking for a job here in Idaho.  For two months (July and August, 2010) I went down to Santa Barbara, California to help my grandmother around the house.  I came back in September, 2010, and I have been looking for employment since.

Why you are reading this:
Given my current situation, I have absolutely no funds for college!  My father has almost no money at all, and my mother has passed away in 2009.  Since I will be going to school 15-18 credits per semester, this leaves no time for a job (if I could even find one).  In total, it is going to cost me $100,000 to $110,000 for my education!  This includes housing, insurance, food, tuition, books, transportation costs and various small expenses.

What I am asking for:
All that I am asking for a small donation via the button to the right.  Anything counts!  The money from donations will strictly be spent on education costs, nothing else.  I won't be modifying my car or using the money for vacations!

Thank you for stopping by, and please consider donating to my college fund!
